Outside the walls of the Old City in Jerusalem, this Orthodox brother of Yeshua scans ads of a local newspaper.

(I may have mentioned this before-but it is worth repeating! I trust it blesses you!)

We are in Day 26 of Teshuvah 5786 and repenting for failing to observe the Torah with Joy: "You did not serve Yehovah your Elohim with joyfulness and gladness of heart." Deuteronomy 28:47. Last night, I met and prayed with a special group of ladies and we discussed Exodus 32 and 33 but ran out of time before reading the beautiful passage in Exodus 34 where Elohim told Moses to cut two tablets of stone like the first ones (Moses had broken when he saw the Israelites dancing around the golden calf) and come up Mount Sinai in the morning. Moses cut the two tablets of stone like the first ones, rose early in the morning and climbed back up Mount Sinai....Rabbi Curt Landry points out that Our Father gives us second chances: however, it is never as easy the second time. No wonder Moses got up early! Can you imagine how hot it gets in Israel and then to climb up the mountain, carrying two heavy stones?! But Moses did just as Adonai commanded him and Adonai descended in the cloud and stood with Moses there! And Adonai proclaimed His Name and these 13 Attributes of Mercy:

  1. YEHOVAH-- Compassion before a person sins

  2. YEHOVAH--Compassion after a person has sinned

  3. Mighty in Compassion, to give all creatures according to their need

  4. Merciful, that humankind may not be distressed

  5. Gracious if humankind is already in distress

  6. Slow to Anger

  7. Plenteous in Kindness

  8. Plenteous in Truth

  9. Keeping Kindness unto thousands

  10. Forgiving Iniquity

  11. Forgiving Transgression

  12. Forgiving Sin

  13. Pardoning

Ministries of New Life teaches that "In Jewish prayer times, these 13 Attributes of Mercy are recited numerous times during the Hebrew month of Elul (today is Elul 24) and especially on the Day of Atonement (Tishrei 10). Rabbis point out that in Elul, when the 13 Attributes of Mercy are more regularly referenced, Torah learning is heightened; Jewish scholars see a clear link between the 13 Attributes and gleaning wisdom from the Torah." These 40 Days that Moses was on Mt. Sinai, interceding for the sin of the Golden Calf are known as the 40 Days of Teshuvah. The 13 Attributes of Mercy reveal Our Father's essence. MNL teaches The 13 Attributes are marvelous weapons against our archenemy as we come daily before our Father to worship, confess and repent of our sins and the sins of our families, the Body, and the Nations.

We have a difficut ccomprehending Our Father's compassion toward us, don't we?

He is so Good. I hope this blesses you today as it does me...
